Chinese UFO

While the US Army refuses to acknowledge that they’ve been collaborating with alien life forms over the last decades, testing UFOs in secret, the Chinese guys seem to be more straightforward as they have recently presented “the most advanced” man-made UFO.

Unfortunately, the flying thingy is only four feet in diameter, thus unable to transport any human-like form of life. According to DVice, the flying saucer uses the good old-fashioned propellers in order to levitate. The Chinese designers negate any alien collaboration in this case, stating that they only designed the device as a tool for geological surveys and aerial photography.

Wooden bicycles can be found all over the world. These handmade bikes are often larger-scale scooters that you sit on. Made with whatever wood can be found, they use small wooden home-made wheels covered with discarded rubber rims. Forward movement depends on the rider pushing with their feet.

These wooden bicycles are ridden in the Banaue region of the Philippines. During an annual festival celebrating the culture of the regional tribes, wooden bikes are raced by participants in native costume. Notice the cool foot-activated brakes. In Rwanda this farmer uses his wooden bike to haul lumber. Turns out there is a wonderful non-profit set up to help spread the technology and use of simple load-bearing bikes. The Coffee Bike Project will donate rugged metal bikes to coffee farmers in Rwanda to aid them in getting their beans to market.

'The Futuro House' from the 70s

Finnish architect Matti Suuronen designed this UFO shaped dwelling in 1968, initially for use as a ski-cabin or holiday home.

The idea behind the design reflects the optimism of the sixties. At the time people believed technology could solve all problems for the human race. The ideal was of a new era, a space-age, where everybody would have more leisure time to spend on holidays away from home.

The Futuro house was completely furnished and could accommodate 8 people. It was constructed entirely out of reinforced plastic, a new, light and inexpensive material back then. The plan was to mass-produce it, so it would be cheap enough to house all people around the earth. Because it was so light-weight, it was easily transportable by helicopter. Mobile living was the new possibility for the future. People could now take their moveable home with them, to wherever they went, and live like modern nomads.

Unfortunately the 1973 oil crisis spoiled all these plans. Prices of plastic raised production costs too high to be profitable. Only 96 Futuro houses were ever built. Besides the 48 made in Finland, also at least 48 were manufactured abroad on license.

Ohh…well…this is really an interesting piece of invention. It is the toilet of the future. It has a TV, a TiVo, a DVD player, Xbox, laptop, fridge , a megaphone (to let the whole world hear how happy you are), and iPod dock.

Beautiful animal inspired hair hats fashion

Sometimes when you see something amazing, you are being instantly confused but still can’t take the eyes out from it. That is exactly the effect of these weird and beautiful animal-inspired hair hats designed by Japanese art director Nagi Noda.

Remember that this girls don’t wear artificial hats, this is their own hair and a hair stylist probably worked hours and hours to make it look like an animal.

Nagi Noda is known for TV commercials and ad campaigns and in her project transform human hair in dogs, lions, cows, rabbits, giraffes, monkeys and other animals.
